Our New Director
| Troy Kaper
is a long-time member of the men’s Barbershop Harmony Society, has directed
the Dayton Metro Chapter and has sung in numerous quartets, including
Bustin’ Loose, the
1984 Johnny Appleseed District Champions, who have frequently entertained
Gem City audiences as guest performers on chorus shows. Troy has been a
long time friend of the chorus ever since his wife Tammye joined back in
1981. Tammye became the choreography later in the 80's and is back singing
with the chorus and as their choreographer. |

In addition, Troy has taught performance, choreography, and emceeing classes
at barbershop training seminars and had has served on the JAD District staff
as both quartet and chorus coach. Troy still emcee's many shows and other
events for barbershop and non-barbershop. Troy has a great humorous
personality and a life long passion for the barbershop style. Gem City is
excited to see where this new path will lead but for sure it is going to be
fun |
